An alert was issued by the DOT when a tractor-trailer overturned and spilled debris into the roadway in Warren County, halting all traffic in the area of exit 6, officials said after the violent crash onto the roadway.

The crash also shut down all lanes on Route 522, which was still being cleared as of 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 after the truck caught fire and sent smoke billowing through the air that could be seen by motorists.

No timetable for traffic reopening has been provided.

Details about the crash have not been released.
